Problem Description:
Before removing the feathers of a slaughtered chicken, it is usually boiled for a few minutes in hot water to make the plucking easier. Commonly, the chicken is put directly into the water without removing its internal impurities (its intestines and waste).
Question:
Is such chicken considered impure (najis)?
Answer:
The chicken meat is not intrinsically impure (najis), but it is considered mutanajjis (an item that has been contaminated by impurity). To purify it, it is sufficient to wash it once with water.
